The valley of  black grouse

This itinerary follows the right orographic side of the Valley of Rhêmes, above  the village of Bruil (1.723 masl). It goes into the protection forest of conifers and then in the valley of Sort, up to the hut of the Gran Paradiso National Park at 2.294 masl. We discover the winter aspect of the enchanted forest of spruce and larch, where the black grouse is the master of the house. During the walk, we can observe the adaptation strategies of animals and plants to cold winter weather and we give you the tools to learn how to move safely in a winter environment: excursion planning, basics of snow science, field study of avalanches.
